Dr. Hisham Daoud is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences at Augusta University. He is the director of the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIM) Lab, which focuses on developing AI tools to advance healthcare technology through translational research. Dr. Daoud’s research interest is to design, develop, test, and implement AI algorithms and medical devices for the diagnosis, prediction, and management of critical diseases. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the Center for Advanced Computer Studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He has held multiple positions in both industry and academia. Dr. Daoud’s awards include the 2022 Best Paper Award in IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Circuits and Systems, the 2020 Outstanding Research Award from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, the Charles Desoer Technical Achievement Award at the IEEE Biomedical Circuits and Systems Conference in 2019, and the Best Paper Award at the 14thIEEE Colloquium on Signal Processing and its Applications Conference in 2018. Dr. Daoud has served as Technical Session Chair of many international conferences. He has also served as a reviewer for several international conferences and journals. Dr. Daoud is a senior member of the IEEE.
