Chun-Jung Juan, MD, PhD, is an esteemed radiologist, academic, and researcher with significant contributions to the intersections of artificial intelligence, medical imaging, and diseases.Born in Changhua, Taiwan, in February 1970, Dr. Juan earned his MD from the National Defense Medical Center in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1995. He advanced his expertise by completing a PhD in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University in 2007. Further expanding his academic pursuits, he began another PhD in Computer Science and Information Engineering at the same institution in 2018.Dr. Juan embarked on his medical career as a radiologist in 1997 at Tri-Service General Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan. He earned his radiology board certification in 2001 and subsequently achieved his neuroradiology board certification in 2022. Currently, Dr. Juan serves as the Vice Superintendent of China Medical University Hsinchu Hospital in Hsinchu, Taiwan. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, he is a full professor at China Medical University and a joint professor at National Tsing Hua University, both roles approved by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan.Dr. Juan is heavily involved in academic publishing, currently serving on the scientific editorial board in the category of head and neck for European Radiology and as an associate editor in the category of artificial intelligence for Frontiers in Radiology. Since 1998, he has published over 130 journal articles and delivered more than 160 conference presentations.His research focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence to advance medical imaging and improve diagnosis and treatment across various conditions, including stroke, cancer, degenerative spine disease, radiation Isarcopenia.
